I was able to fix this by changing the max players on the host server using a console command. I call this the Client computer.įirst there was a problem with the server setting the max players to 1 even though I allowed for 2. Next, I log onto steam on my other computer, start 7D2D and then try to log into the private server I created using the host IP. This creates the server game and allows my to play on that server from the same computer. I don't use the 'Steam Family sharing' It's just the same account and login for both computers and it works out so long as only one is using steam in ONLINE mode.įor LAN, I run 7D2D on my main PC with steam in offline mode.
Right now I have steam installed on two different computers in the same house on the same network. I just finished spending a great deal of time researching how to setup LAN play for '7 days to die' via Steam, but after much troubleshooting and reading other forum posts I'm stumped.
